We value the car, wash it and clean it, show it to potential buyers, register the change of ownership and make sure that the seller gets the money in their account.The buyer can see the actual condition of the car in our test documentation and does not have to prepare for unforeseen costs. A purchase through us is also covered by the Consumer Purchases Act, which means that you can claim compensation if needed.

How do I know that no-one has forced up the price during the auction?

We have a department at Kvdcars which monitors auctions and bids. This is both to protect you as a bidder and to help persons who make unreasonable or incorrect bids by mistake. Unlawful bidding is not a common occurrence, but if it does happen the bidder is banned from bidding on kvdbil.se

How do you know what my car is worth?

We have a long history of car valuation through our fellow subsidiary Bilpriser. The valuation is based on our own statistics and forecasts, as well as sales prices from kvdcars.com and other actors. When you enter your registration number, we collect information about your car from the car register and through our database we determine the value of the car. Our database includes more than 15,000 car models and 200,000 versions of these models. We assume that all models have unique depreciation curves. Learn more about our valuation processes here.

If bids do not exceed the reserve price, can I still buy the car?

Accepted Answer

This depends on if the seller chooses to sell their car under the reserve price, i.e. the lowest sales price that they decided on in consultation with us at Kvdcars ahead of the sale. After an auction completes, we contact you as the highest bidder and after that we contact the seller to see if they would be interested to sell the car at your bidding price.

What happens once the auction ends?

When the auction is completed we contact the winning bidder and schedule a time for collecting the car. When the buyer collects the car, the change of ownership is registered and the money is deposited into the seller’s account.

What do I do if problems arise after buying my car?

Contact our complaints department. Complaints must be made in writing and it is therefore easiest to e-mail us at reklamation@kvdbil.se . Remember to provide us with the car’s registration number, a description of how the error manifests itself, and specify whether you have pointed this out when collecting the car. Why has Kvdcars deregistered the car?

When you put your car up for sale, we also apply for an off road notification for it from the Swedish Transport Agency. This ensures that paid vehicle tax is refunded by the Transport Agency to you as the owner. Once the car is sold, we register the new ownership and reverse the off road notification.

What is Kvdcars Certified?

All cars sold through Kvdcars have undergone our comprehensive and independent vehicle test. Kvdcars Certified collects cars that, according to the results of the test, meet specifically set requirements for condition and function. Among other criteria, the cars meet the following; no remarks on engine, gearbox, and brakes, are a maximum of 8 years old, and have a maximum of 12,000 kilometers on the odometer. How do I know the condition of an electric car battery?

When you buy an electric car from us at Kvdcars, we perform a battery test and measure the car’s State of Health, meaning the remaining capacity compared to when the battery was new. The result is shown as a star rating that indicates how much life and performance remain. Yes, a 20 percent deposit is required for our car loans. Since we sell many cars each year, we have allready negotiated a favourble interest terms.

The easiest way to pay for the car is through banktransfer via a payment link that you receive from our customer service centre. You can also pay by Swish up to SEK 150 000 after the auction closes. How do I reschedule my appointment for collection/dropping off?

You can conveniently change your drop-off time by logging in using your e-mail address and password at kvdcars.com and selecting “My sales”. You can also reschedule the time using the confirmation e-mail that you received when scheduling a time, or contact our customer centre at 010-1673000, and we will help you reschedule!

Do I have a warranty on the car?

Buying a used car from Kvdcars is just as safe as buying a new one. Not only do you know the state of the car that you are buying, you are also have the right to claim compensation according to the Consumer Purchases Act. On top of this we also offer warranties through Fragus.

How long does it take for you to see the money if I pay through a bank transfer?

Kvdcars has accounts with most major Swedish banks - Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, Länsförsäkringar, Nordea, SEB and Swedbank. If you transfer money from any of these banks, we will see the money immediately. If you make a transfer from another bank, it usually takes one business day.

How do I know that my bid is placed?

The bidding history shows a green entry marked “Your bid” when you have submitted a bid. You can also see your bidding history when logged in with an e-mail address and password.

I signed up but did not get a password. Can you send it to me?

We can of course send you your password, but if you have special settings regarding which e-mails are marked as spam, it is a good idea to make sure that our e-mail does not end up in the wrong folder. When will the auction end?

Accepted Answer

Each auction has a set date and time when it closes. The time is always shown in your local time zone. You can place bids up until that time. If a bid is placed just before the auction closes, it's extended by 3 minutes and 30 seconds. An auction can also close before the set time if the car is bought at a fixed price , which is available up until 48 hours before closing.

When do I have to pick up the car that I have won at auction/bought to fixed price?

Once you have won a car at auction or bought it at a fixed price, you will need to pick up the car within 3-5 business days, when transporting between our facilitiess and export, it takes a few extra days. Contact our custumer center at +4610-167 30 00, to book a time for pick up.

If the seller does not want to sell below the reserve price, do I still havr to pay the mediation fee?

If the bids for an auction do not reach the reserve price, we contact the seller and ask if they are open to selling below the reserve price. If the seller does not want to do this, there is no sale, even if you are the highest bidder. You will not be charged any money in this case. The buyer’s fee is only paid if there is a deal.

All prices and bids are inclusive of VAT on kvdcars.com, but there are car auctions where VAT is deductible. In the auction list you can filter out which cars can be purchased with deductible VAT.

What is a reservation price?

Accepted Answer

The reservation price is the minimum price the seller requests for the car. The reservation price is hidden from the bidders, but all bidders can see if the reservation price is reached or not. If a bid is placed just before the auction ends, the time for the auction will be extended with each new bid so that new and higher bids can always be placed.

The bidding starts at the car's starting price. Placing this bid means that the bidding has started, not that the reservation price has been reached.When the bid for the starting price is placed, you can choose to place 500 SEK more than the car's current maximum bid or place a so-called maximum bid

What is the mediation fee?

When you buy a car through Kvdcars, you pay a mediation fee in addition to the agreed price for the car. The mediation fee for each car is indicated in the car’s presentation/advertisement on kvdcars.com. What the fee is depends on the value of the car.

What is a maximum bid?

Accepted Answer

A maximum bid means that you indicate the maximum price you want to pay for the car and allow the bidding to increase gradually and automatic by SEK 500 at a time if some other bidder chooses to take part in the auction. However, the automatic bidding never exceeds your maximum bid. You can adjust your maximum bid by enter another sum in the input field.

What is an auto bid?

If you have placed a maximum bid, automatic bidding will appear as an "auto bid". Maximum bid means that you set the price you want to pay for the car at the maximum and allow your bid to be automatically increased by SEK 500 at a time, if another bidder chooses to place a higher bid than your last bid.

What is Kvdcars's definition of an Eco Friendly car?

We have chosen to define an Eco Friendly car according to the three requirements below. At least one of the requirements must be met.-If the car can use gas (not petrol) as fuel.-If the car lets out less than 70 g CO2/1km.-If the car has a battery that can be charged with a cord that drives an electric motor to power the vehicle.This definition also applies to our export rules.

Do I have right of withdrawal since I am buying the car online?

When buying a car through us at Kvdcars, the Consumer Purchases Act applies and the purchase is done over the counter when you collect your new used car. How does the right of withdrawal work?

When you buy a car and choose to have it delivered to your home , you have a 14-day right of withdrawal against a return cost. If you pick up your car at one of our facilities after the auction has ended or you have bought the car for a fixed price, there is no right of withdrawal on the purchase. However, regardless of whether you buy the car at auction or at a fixed price, you always have the right to make a complaint if something turns out to be wrong after purchase, in accordance with the Consumer Sales Act. How does "Reserve the car" work?

When you buy a car at a fixed price, you start by "Reserving the car". By doing so, you have reserved a spot to buy the car and have received what's called a purchase queue number. Your position in the queue is stated in the email you receive in connection with the reservation. There may be others who have chosen to reserve the car, and we contact everyone in turn.

If, after you have picked up the car or had it delivered, you discover a fault in the car that was not described at the time of purchase, you can complain to us about the fault on Kvdcars. Contact us at customercare@kvdcars.com and you will receive a template to complete which you will send to the pre-filled recipient.You will automatically receive a confirmation when the email has been delivered to our complaints department, take a look in the spam filter if it does not appear. What counts as a complaint?

The defect must have been on the car at the time of purchase or earlier in order to be considered a complaint.According to the Consumer Purchase Act, you have the right to invoke original defects up to three years after you have received the car. If an error is discovered within 24 months, it is we at Kvdcars who have the burden of proof for this, ie to show whether it is an original error or not. If we can show that it is not an original error, the error is not our responsibility to remedyIf there is a fault in the vehicle that is not noted on the object description and cannot be counted as normal wear and tear of a used car, then there is a basis for complaining about the fault to Kvdcars. Why is the ownership transfer for my car delayed?

If the car you purchased has a lease agreement, it may take up to fourteen business days for the lease block to be removed from the vehicle registry. As soon as the leasing company has registered your payment, you will be registered as the owner, and the registration certificate will be sent to your registered address. And don't worry. You have the purchase agreement as proof that the car is yours, and your insurance is valid as usual during this time.

What is the difference between an electric car, a plug-in hybrid, and a mild hybrid?

An electric car runs solely on electricity and is charged through the power grid, with no petrol engine. A plug-in hybrid has both an electric motor and a petrol or diesel engine and can be driven a short distance on electricity alone. When the battery is empty, the petrol engine automatically takes over, and the battery can be charged from the power grid. A mild hybrid has a smaller electric motor that assists the petrol or diesel engine, for example during acceleration or start/stop, but it cannot run on electricity alone and is not charged via the power grid. Use this calculation: Cost to fully charge your electric car = Battery capacity × Electricity price per kWh Cost per 10 km = Total charging cost ÷ Car’s range Charging at home is usually the cheapest option. The average price is around SEK 2.30 per kWh* over the year, but it varies depending on your contract, electricity provider, and season. *From November 1, 2025, a temporary high-cost protection for households will be introduced, where the state covers the difference if the monthly average electricity price exceeds SEK 1.50 per kWh during the period November 2025 to December 2026.

Don’t you need to see my car before proposing a minimum sale price?

Based on your registration number, we can access so much information about your car that we can make an assessment regarding how much we can sell your car for and determine a reasonable minimum sale price (reserve price). Our estimation is based on the car being in normal condition and solely on the equipment you have indicated when registering. All cars sold through us are tested by professional technicians, and when the test is performed we can give a more exact estimation regarding sale price. If the car is in worse condition that expected, this negatively affects the reserve price, and if the car is in better condition that expected, this positively affects the reserve price.

How long does a sale take?

Generally, it takes around three weeks from when you register interest to the car being sold, but it depends of course on how and when the car is delivered to us. Before the car is advertised at kvdcars.com, it has been washed, cleaned and tested by our team.

How far has my car come in the sales process?

By logging in with an e-mail address and password you can continuously track your car throughout the sales process, from registering your interest to the car being sold and the money coming into your account.

How long does it take for my car to be put up for auction?

Accepted Answer

Your car is published as "Coming soon" on kvdcars.com as soon as the agreement is signed – that way you get interested buyers right away, before the listing is fully complete. Full details and photos are added as we test the vehicle. How quickly your car gets a date for the auction countdown depends on how many cars were dropped off the same day (if the queue is long, it may take a few days before we can test your particular car) and whether you've added upholstery cleaning or any other extra service. It usually takes around 7–10 days after the car arrives at our facility. You can always follow where your car is in the process by logging in to My Pages with your email address and password at kvdbil.se.

How often do cars sell for above reserve price or above your higher valuation?

Just how far above reserve price winning bids usually land varies from one car model to the next and also over time. The auction stage also means that the car always sells at market price and 97% of all cars put up for auction sell through us.

I have not been able to choose the correct equipment option prior to the valuation. How can you then know what the car is worth?

Based on the registration number, we get so much information about your car that we can make an initial estimation regarding the expected sale price. If there is equipment on your car that you have not specified when registering or which we do not identify through the Swedish Transport Agency, and if this increases the value,we will of course adjust the estimated auction price at a later stage.

What stage of the sales process is my car in right now?

In conjunction with registering your interest, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from us. We then maintain contact with you via e-mail and text message, and you can at any time track your car throughout the process by logging in with your e-mail address and password at kvdcars.se. If you have not received an e-mail or are searching for information not available to you, call our customer centre for assistance!

Can I change the reserve price after I have registered the car for sale?

The reserve price is the minimum sale price you can imagine selling the car for and is determined in consultation with us at Kvdcars. As seller, you can change your reserve price up to six hours before the end of auction, but only if the reserve price at the time of adjustment has not been reached in the auction and there is an agreement between us at Kvdcars and you as seller regarding the new minimum sale price.

Can you pcik up the car I want to sell or do I need to hand it in myself?

In Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö and the surrounding area we can pick up the car at the place you want. It can be in the garage driveway, in the office or in the visitor parking. Washing and cleaning are part of the service we offer when we sell a car, and this stage cannot be skipped. To maintain a high and consistent quality for our bidders and buyers, all cars we sell are washed and cleaned as per our own standard. For sellers, this means we make the car deal even easier for you - you do not even need to clean out the car before leaving it in to be sold.

My car does not meet your requirements for sale. Can you sell it anyway?

When do I get the money from the sale?

You will see the money in your account one to three bank days after the buyer has collected the car from us. We handle the paperwork for the change of ownership, take payment from the buyer and ensure that the money reaches you.

It completely depends on what the defects are and the car’s overall condition. Ask your contact person during a sale or contact our customer centre and we will see what is best in your specific case.
