Do I have right of withdrawal since I am buying the car online?

When buying a car through us at Kvdcars, the Consumer Purchases Act applies and the purchase is done over the counter when you collect your new used car. This means that there is no right to cancel the purchase retroactively, but you can claim compensation if errors are noted after the purchase.

How do I know that no-one has forced up the price during the auction?

We have a department at Kvdcars which monitors auctions and bids. This is both to protect you as a bidder and to help persons who make unreasonable or incorrect bids by mistake. Unlawful bidding is not a common occurrence, but if it does happen the bidder is banned from bidding on kvdbil.se

How do you know what my car is worth?

We have a long history of car valuation through our fellow subsidiary Bilpriser. The valuation is based on our own statistics and forecasts, as well as sales prices from kvdcars.com and other actors. When you enter your registration number, we collect information about your car from the car register and through our database we determine the value of the car.
Our database includes more than 15,000 car models and 200,000 versions of these models. We assume that all models have unique depreciation curves. Learn more about our valuation processes [here.](/carvaluation)

How does Kvdcars work?

At Kvdcars we help companies and individuals to sell and buy used cars. Our business model is simple: the seller should get a fair price for their car and the buyer should feel safe and know the actual condition of the car.
Anyone selling their car through us is aided by an entire team. We value the car, wash it and clean it, show it to potential buyers, register the change of ownership and make sure that the seller gets the money in their account.
The buyer can see the actual condition of the car in our test documentation and does not have to prepare for unforeseen costs. A purchase through us is also covered by the Consumer Purchases Act, which means that you can claim compensation if needed.

If bids do not exceed the reserve price, can I still buy the car?

Accepted Answer

This depends on if the seller chooses to sell their car under the reserve price, i.e. the lowest sales price that they decided on in consultation with us at Kvdcars ahead of the sale. After an auction completes, we contact you as the highest bidder and after that we contact the seller to see if they would be interested to sell the car at your bidding price.

What do I do if problems arise after buying my car?

Accepted Answer

Contact our complaints department. Complaints must be made in writing and it is therefore easiest to e-mail us at reklamation@kvdbil.se.
Remember to provide us with the car’s registration number, a description of how the error manifests itself, and specify whether you have pointed this out when collecting the car. We are naturally also interested in other information and circumstances that may be relevant to the case.

What happens once the auction ends?

When the auction is completed we contact the winning bidder and schedule a time for collecting the car. When the buyer collects the car, the change of ownership is registered and the money is deposited into the seller’s account.

Why has Kvdcars deregistered the car?

Accepted Answer

When you put your car up for sale, we also apply for an off road notification for it from the Swedish Transport Agency. This ensures that paid vehicle tax is refunded by the Transport Agency to you as the owner. Once the car is sold, we register the new ownership and reverse the off road notification.

Do I need a down payment for your car loan?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a 20 percent deposit is required for our car loans. Since we sell many cars each year, we have allready negotiated a favourble interest terms.

Do I have a warranty on the car?

Accepted Answer

Buying a used car from Kvdcars is just as safe as buying a new one. Not only do you know the state of the car that you are buying, you are also have the right to claim compensation according to the Consumer Purchases Act. On top of this we also offer warranties through Fragus.

Does it matter which facility the car is located at?

Accepted Answer

No, if the car is located far away we can help you transport it to a facility that is closer to you.

How do I pay for the car?

The easiest way to pay for the car is through banktransfer via a payment link that you receive from our customer service centre. You can also pay by Swish up to SEK 150 000 after the auction closes. How do I know that my bid is placed?

The bidding history shows a green entry marked “Your bid” when you have submitted a bid. You can also see your bidding history when logged in with an e-mail address and password.

How do I reschedule my appointment for collection/dropping off?

You can conveniently change your drop-off time by logging in using your e-mail address and password at kvdcars.com and selecting “My sales”. You can also reschedule the time using the confirmation e-mail that you received when scheduling a time, or contact our customer centre at 010-1673000, and we will help you reschedule!

Question 21

How long does it take for you to see the money if I pay through a bank transfer?

Kvdcars has accounts with most major Swedish banks - Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, Länsförsäkringar, Nordea, SEB and Swedbank. If you transfer money from any of these banks, we will see the money immediately. If you make a transfer from another bank, it usually takes one business day.

Is VAT an additional cost on the cars?

Accepted Answer

All prices and bids are inclusive of VAT on kvdcars.com, but there are car auctions where VAT is deductible. In the [auction list](/auctions) you can filter out which cars can be purchased with deductible VAT.

Question 23

If the seller does not want to sell below the reserve price, do I still havr to pay the mediation fee?

Accepted Answer

If the bids for an auction do not reach the reserve price, we contact the seller and ask if they are open to selling below the reserve price.
If the seller does not want to do this, there is no sale, even if you are the highest bidder. You will not be charged any money in this case. The buyer’s fee is only paid if there is a deal.

I signed up but did not get a password. Can you send it to me?

We can of course send you your password, but if you have special settings regarding which e-mails are marked as spam, it is a good idea to make sure that our e-mail does not end up in the wrong folder.

What does it cost to transport a car?

When will the auction end?

Accepted Answer

Each auction has an exposed date and time when the auction ends. This means that you can place bid until this time. If a bid was to be placed just before the auction ends, the auction will be extended by 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

When do I have to pick up the car that I have won at auction?

Accepted Answer

Once you have won a car at auction or bought it at a fixed price, you will need to pick up the car within three business days. Contact our custumer center at 010-167 30 00, to book a time for pick up.

What is the mediation fee?

Accepted Answer

When you buy a car through Kvdcars, you pay a mediation fee in addition to the agreed price for the car. The mediation fee for each car is indicated in the car’s presentation/advertisement on kvdcars.com. What the fee is depends on the value of the car.

Question 29

What is Releasing at Kvdcars?

Accepted Answer

Releasing at Kvdcars means that you lease a used car. You pay a fixed amount monthly for your car ownership, without the need for a down payment. You choose the mileage and length of the leasing period. After you have won the auction, choose to finance the car through Releasing.

What is a maximum bid?

Accepted Answer

A maximum bid means that you indicate the maximum price you want to pay for the car and allow the bidding to increase gradually and automatic by SEK 500 at a time if some other bidder chooses to take part in the auction. However, the automatic bidding never exceeds your maximum bid. You can adjust your maximum bid by enter another sum in the input field.

What is an auto bid?

If you have placed a maximum bid, automatic bidding will appear as an "auto bid".
Maximum bid means that you set the price you want to pay for the car at the maximum and allow your bid to be automatically increased by SEK 500 at a time, if another bidder chooses to place a higher bid than your last bid.

Don’t you need to see my car before proposing a minimum sale price?

Accepted Answer

Based on your registration number, we can access so much information about your car that we can make an assessment regarding how much we can sell your car for and determine a reasonable minimum sale price (reserve price). Our estimation is based on the car being in normal condition and solely on the equipment you have indicated when registering.
All cars sold through us are tested by professional technicians, and when the test is performed we can give a more exact estimation regarding sale price. If the car is in worse condition that expected, this negatively affects the reserve price, and if the car is in better condition that expected, this positively affects the reserve price.

Do you take trade-ins?

We currently do not offer a traditional trade-in service, but with us it is as easy to sell a car as to win the bidding for one.

Can you pcik up the car I want to sell or do I need to hand it in myself?

In Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö and the surrounding area we can pick up the car at the place you want. It can be in the garage driveway, in the office or in the visitor parking. Can I change the reserve price after I have registered the car for sale?

Accepted Answer

The reserve price is the minimum sale price you can imagine selling the car for and is determined in consultation with us at Kvdcars. As seller, you can change your reserve price up to six hours before the end of auction, but only if the reserve price at the time of adjustment has not been reached in the auction and there is an agreement between us at Kvdcars and you as seller regarding the new minimum sale price.

How far has my car come in the sales process?

By logging in with an e-mail address and password you can continuously track your car throughout the sales process, from registering your interest to the car being sold and the money coming into your account.

How long does it take for my car to be put up for auction?

Accepted Answer

The length of time it takes for your car to be put up for auction after delivery to us depends on several factors. Firstly, it depends on how many cars have been delivered that day. If there are many cars queuing to be sold, it may take a few days before your car is tested. Secondly, the length of time depends on whether you choose to have extra fabric cleaning or some other additional service, as this also takes some time. Usually the car is put up for auction around 7-10 days after you deliver it to us. You can track your car throughout the process by logging in with your e-mail address and password at kvdcars.com.

How long does a sale take?

Accepted Answer

Generally, it takes around three weeks from when you register interest to the car being sold, but it depends of course on how and when the car is delivered to us. The car is advertised on kvdcars.com for 3-5 days, before which the car has been washed, cleaned and tested by our team.

How often do cars sell for above reserve price or above your higher valuation?

Just how far above reserve price winning bids usually land varies from one car model to the next and also over time. The auction stage also means that the car always sells at market price and 97% of all cars put up for auction sell through us.

I have not been able to choose the correct equipment option prior to the valuation. How can you then know what the car is worth?

Based on the registration number, we get so much information about your car that we can make an initial estimation regarding the expected sale price.
If there is equipment on your car that you have not specified when registering or which we do not identify through the Swedish Transport Agency, and if this increases the value,we will of course adjust the estimated auction price at a later stage.

What stage of the sales process is my car in right now?

In conjunction with registering your interest, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from us. We then maintain contact with you via e-mail and text message, and you can at any time track your car throughout the process by logging in with your e-mail address and password at kvdcars.se.

My car is already reconditioned – can I get a price reduction on your fee since you will not have that expense?

Washing and cleaning are part of the service we offer when we sell a car, and this stage cannot be skipped. To maintain a high and consistent quality for our bidders and buyers, all cars we sell are washed and cleaned as per our own standard.
For sellers, this means we make the car deal even easier for you - you do not even need to clean out the car before leaving it in to be sold.

My car does not meet your requirements for sale. Can you sell it anyway?

We can sometimes make an exception and sell cars which have more than 300,000 km on the clock and are more than 15 years old. E-mail your registration number to sellyourcar@kvdcars.com saljdinbil@kvdbil.se and we will assess your car.

Shall I sell my car with small defects or get them fixed before selling?

It completely depends on what the defects are and the car’s overall condition. Ask your contact person during a sale or contact our customer centre and we will see what is best in your specific case.

When do I get the money from the sale?

Accepted Answer

You will see the money in your account one to three bank days after the buyer has collected the car from us. We handle the paperwork for the change of ownership, take payment from the buyer and ensure that the money reaches you.

What does it cost to sell my car through you?

The idea with our service is that you get a better price for your car than through other avenues of sale. When the car is sold, we take a commission based on your sale price.

What has this model been sold for previously through you?

We sell more than 26,000 cars every year and therefore have a solid sales database on which to base a sale price estimate for the car. We do not provide exact sales figures for each individual car but can give a range within which the car model has sold recently.

What happens if my car isn't sold?

Accepted Answer

In the unlikely event that we, after two auctions, do not receive a bid high enough for your car you, as a *private person*, can take your car back free of charge. PBut please note that you can be charged for any additional services you have chosen. If you choose to abort the sell before this, you will be charged with SEK 3500 to cover the cost for Kvdcars.
*For companies:* If the car is not sold after two auctions the cost for test and documentation is SEK 3 500 exckluding VAT. Cost for any additional services will be added.
