The Volvo XC40 is a small format crossover model (nearby BMW X3 and Audi Q3 in size) and was presented in the autumn of 2017 as the 2018 year model. The car was quickly mentioned for its design signed Thomas Ingenlath and was not only recognized for its exterior but also rewarded with the title "Year of the European car" by the English motor magazine "What Car?" In January 2018. The Volvo XC40, together with the significantly larger XC90 , the first car to build on the new CMA platform that will serve platform for all Volvo models in the future and also for cars from Chinese Lynk & Co. The model is available with three different petrol engines and two diesel engines, respectively. The mildest variant is a three-cylinder petrol engine, called T3, of 1.5 liters and 156 horsepower and has a base price of less than SEK 300,000 as a new car. This engine is only available with 6-speed manual box and has a CO2 emission of 144 grams per kilometer as the lowest depending on the choice of tire, road surface and more. It is also fuel-efficient with a specified consumption of 0.62 liters per mile for mixed driving. If you want more power, the XC40 comes with a cylinder in the form of both T4 and the strongest T5 engine, of which the latter cannot be ordered without four-wheel drive. It is worth noting that the smallest T3 engine cannot be combined with the optional four-wheel drive but only available as the front wheel drive. The diesel variants are the proven D3 and D4 engines that provide 148 and 187 horsepower, respectively. An ordinary foundation for cars in this size class is the size of the luggage compartment, which means that many may choose a larger (and in some cases more expensive car model). One tip is to test drive the car model to form a better picture of the practical properties. In the case of the Volvo XC40 there is a luggage volume of 460 liters with the rear seat in the raised position. In many cases, the cargo space lasts longer than you think.
