The BMW Z4 is a popular sports car and it is not without reason - it is priced for more wallets than the larger models from the brand and a sporty driving environment located near the rear axle makes the car entertaining to drive. The origin of this class, whose popularity grew greatly during the late 1990s, is that BMW and more wanted to supplement their model program to include smaller sports models (at this time they were over twice as expensive BMW 8 Series and Mercedes SL what stood available). Competitors from both Mercedes-Benz and Audi with several appeared close after but the first to reach the customers was BMW.
The model got off to a great start and the order lists became long as it became James Bond's company car in the movie "Goldeneye" in 1995. The differences between the older Z3 and Z4 are large. For starters, the Z4 is larger for exterior and interior dimensions with improved detail quality and, of course, more modern equipment. A good driving feeling is found in both cars but more feeling with the road has the older model despite a somewhat stiffer chassis in the latter. The Z4 also offers higher comfort in the form of less road noise and vibration. Instead of renaming the model at a new launch, the Z4 went for generations. The first generation was launched to the 2004 model year and is called internally (and also externally among BMW enthusiasts) for the body name E85. This was replaced with the annual model 2009 by E89, which today enjoys a greater popularity in the second-hand market, but both models are attractive and remain stable in price.
The third generation of the BMW Z4 appeared in 2018 and received timely commissioned lanterns and shared air intakes in the lower bumpers as well as sharp-cut grill, or "kidneys," as it is called in BMW language.
