How to keep children safe and cool in the car this summer

The right car seat for your child

First of all, make sure you have a comfortable and above all a safe car seat for your child. A rear-facing car seat is, whether on holiday or a short trip to preschool, up to five times safer than a forward-facing car seat. Therefore, choose a rear-facing car seat that allows your child to travel safely and rear-facing for as long as possible, preferably up to the age of 6-7.

Keep the car cool

The climate in the car is important for both mood and well-being. As children are more sensitive to heat stroke, it is important that the child stays cool. Here, of course, you can use the car's AC, but there are also accessories that further help your child stay cool in the car seat, such as seat cushions adapted for summer climates or summer clothing that is cooler than the car seat's own fabric. Also, don't forget the sun protection that you can easily attach to the car's windows to reduce the strong sun for the child and at the same time keep the temperature down.

Reduce the risk of motion sickness in children

Unfortunately, some children experience motion sickness during longer car journeys. Some small but oh so important tips to avoid nausea is to keep the right temperature in the car, you can also adjust the angle of the car seat so that your child sits comfortably, relaxed and can look out the window. In addition, a mirror can help your child look up, which can also reduce nausea.

But remember, for your child's safety, only use accessories from recognized suppliers that are both tested and safe! Also remember to avoid loose objects in the car as they can pose a danger in the event of a collision.
