5 affordable cabs for the summer

Old classics such as the BMW 3 series, Mazda MX-5 and Porsche 911 are just some of the models that have become more popular. Here we list five cabs that offer fun driving for a reasonable price.

BMW 3 series

BMW's most popular series began to be sold on the market as early as 1975 and has dominated the second-hand market in recent years. Above all, the classic E30 model is very popular among retro buyers. But the best-selling variant is also one of the more powerful, the 325i model with 170 horsepower. Depending on the model year and condition, you can find a car for under SEK 100,000.

Mazda MX-5

The world's best-selling sports car with over 1,500,000 units sold. The two-seater model is rear-wheel drive and comes with a vinyl convertible top. The first model "NA" came out on the market already in 1990 and was inspired by two-seater roadsters from the 60s and 70s. Today it is possible to find several models from the series for around SEK 50,000.

Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet

Volkswagen's classic car model was produced as a convertible for the first time in 1979. With its transverse front engine and front-wheel drive, it has the same engine as the regular Volkswagen Golf. A convertible from the 80s is still very undervalued and you can easily get one for around SEK 30,000. A find that may increase in value in the future.

Porsche 911

In the mid-60s, Porsche launched its now most famous model, the 911. Since then, it has been updated several times with more powerful engines and better performance. But it is possibly the model from the 80s that has become the most sought after and today is considered a collector's car. It is possible to find a car from both the 80s and 90s for around SEK 300,000.

Volvo C70

The C70 was the first modern convertible from Volvo and was introduced to the market in the mid-90s. However, production was completely stopped in 2013 and the car model has not been manufactured since then. But despite that, there are many cars out on the second-hand market. The price for an older variant is around SEK 90,000, while one manufactured around 2010 can cost upwards of SEK 190,000. Models from 2006 and later are equipped with three-part retractable tin roofs. The roof can be raised and lowered in less than 30 seconds.
